TREATMENT PARTNERS
The following is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all resources in CT, but rather a starting point for you. For a more detailed list on how to find services in your area you can check out the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services Website or call 2-1-1.
Detox
Hospital setting – 24/7 care. 5-7 Days, Depending on previous history and current usage.
Inpatient Services
Hospital / Institutional Setting - Can range from 28 days to 6 months for a long term program. The average is 28-45 days.
Long Term Treatment Programs (90 Days or More)
Long Term Inpatient Treatment Programs can provide housing and services, sometimes for 6 months up to a year. These programs are difficult to get into and not always advisable depending on your level of addiction and/or mental health. Therefore, when a patient leaves inpatient they must search out other options.
Outpatient Services
The Setting can vary, most Outpatient Providers look/feel like doctor’s offices. They can be in a larger house – or in an actual building or in an actual hospital. Typically speaking, after Inpatient Treatment, extended treatment is generally recommended. The patient will graduate from one level of care to the next, depending on their needs.
Halfway Houses
A halfway house provides 24/7 care and generally has a doctor available throughout the week. Most halfway houses have a limit on how long you can be there – generally about 3 months. (generally due to insurance) Cost is generally covered by insurance – clients are encouraged to look for work and make plans for when they leave.
